Meet Genki
We make technology feel natural
Our story
We unleashed our creativity to help you find yours.
What began as a small Icelandic music tech startup in 2015 has grown into a leading source of innovative technology for not just musicians but for the masses. Of course, we didn’t know that at the time. All we knew was that we wanted technology to feel natural. That started with our intuitive musical gesture sensor—now known simply as the Wave ring.
Back when our wearable was a bulky hand strap rather than the sleek ring you see today, we worked long days, longer nights, and produced iteration after iteration to finally hold a homemade prototype in our hands—and creative control at the tips of our fingers.
Now, we’re taking our technology out of the studio and into the workplace, too, with the same goal we’ve always had: to create technology as an extension of ourselves. Technology that responds to our every gesture, every shift, every movement, almost as though it’s reading our minds—except it doesn’t have to. In the office, on the stage, and everywhere in between, Genki is creating tools for the future of creative expression.
Why We Do It
Intuitive technology for our everyday lives.
By definition, technology isn’t natural—it is created, designed, manipulated, produced. But that doesn’t mean it can’t feel natural, a tool you know as intuitively as the back of your hand. Genki creates wearable technology that responds to your every impulse, as though it was made for you. Intuitive technology helps unlock and unleash creative expression, whether in the music you create or the easy way you navigate your workday.
